COLUMBIA, Tenn. – The Board of Public Utilities has appointed Kelley McCall as interim Executive Director of Columbia Power & Water Systems. McCall’s appointment is part of a transition effort as the Board searches for a permanent director to replace Wes Kelley, who recently accepted the CEO post at Huntsville Utilities.
McCall will perform interim duties while continuing to oversee the utility’s daily fiscal operations as Director of Finance and Administration, a position she has held for seven years. Prior to her promotion to finance director in 2010, McCall served as CPWS’ Assistant Controller.

A native of Columbia, McCall serves on several community and civic boards, including current chair of the Maury County Commission’s Audit Committee, treasurer of the James K. Polk Memorial Association, and is a board member and 2012 graduate of Leadership Maury. As incoming treasurer for Kiwanis of Columbia, McCall also chairs its annual Chili Cook-off fundraiser. Past civic involvement includes serving on the Board of Examiners for the Tennessee Center of Performance Excellence, and as past board member and Budget and Allocation Chairman for the United Way of Maury County.

McCall holds a master’s degree in accounting from Belmont University, and received her bachelor of science in business administration from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. She is a Certified Public Accountant for the state of Tennessee and is currently pursuing certification as a Public Finance Officer with the Government Finance Officers Association.
Governed by the City of Columbia Board of Public Utilities, CPWS provides electric power to more than 27,000 homes and businesses and clean water to more than 20,000 facilities within the city of Columbia and much of Maury County, Tennessee. CPWS also offers PowerNet television, high-speed data, and telephone services to Columbia’s businesses and residents.
